circa 1886, with blued round 6 1/2in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed 'SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS USA' , the left side of barrel stamped '.44 S&W CTG', pinned crescent fore-sight with beaded top, standing adjustable blade rear-sight to the barrel-latch, fluted cylinder, break-open frame with automatic ejection, short ejector housing, chequered walnut grips and colour-hardened trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining much original finish
